After almost two years of being ground because of the pandemic, we decided to take a Royal Caribbean cruise out of Miami.
We were very impressed with the health protocol they are using and felt safe all the time. Due to the reduced capacity of the ship, we enjoyed very few lines and had plenty of spaces for social distance.
We took tours in a couple of destinations that were new to us, Costa Maya, Mexico and Roatan, Honduras. In Costa Maya we visited de famous Bacalar Lagoon, going to an all inclusive resort at the start of the lagoon, which is barely recouping its famous colors lost to a hurricane stirring it last year. Great food and service and abundance of margaritas made for a vey pleasing trip, even if we couldn’t see all the colors the lagoon is known for.
Roatan surprised us with its lush beauty, simple life style and friendly people. We were taken to Las Palmas beach, where we had a delicious seafood lunch and took turns in the swings in the delicious seawater, this after doing a round of town sightseeing.
In Cozumel we stayed on our own by the port and had a blast and great food and fun at Señor Frogs.
After a day at sea to recoup, we went to Perfect day at CocoCay which was amazing except for the quick getting out of the island because of an incoming storm. There will be a separate Blog entrance dedicated to CocoCay very soon.
Here is a slide show with samples of our trip. Thank you for visiting us and enjoy!
