Diving Cayman by Alfred Forns

Diving has been one of my greatest passions, started in my early twenties with a Nikonos II uw camera and flash bulbs !!!!   Current equipment much different and efficient.
The slide show was made over two trips to the Cayman Islands a month apart.  A Olympus OM-D E-M1 MK2 with Nauticam housing used.  For easier and more efficient framing, a Small HD 502 Bright Monitor in Nauticam housing was used.    Cumbersome for UW use but worth the effort, particularly for macro subjects.   For wide angle lighting used a pair of Sea & Sea YS D2J mounted on Nauticam arms and for macro a pair of Iron S-2000.  Btw to protect the camera and monitor from being flooded, the housing is pressurized and uses moisture detecting circuits with visual and audible alarms.

Lenses for this type photography are a peculiar choice, rather than using a fisheye or extreme wide angle with a thin glass port, a 28mm lens is used then a Nauticam optical glass fisheye port used (bulky and heavy). For macro a more conventional 50 or 100 macro lens can be used with the proper port.
One other consideration for the camera/lens combo is the amount of flotation to be used. The rig is naturally negatively buoyant, carbon fiver floats fitted between strobe arms to the rescue. The floats for macro and wide angle are quite different and once calibrated the rig is totally neutral and a joy to use.

Here is a slide show of some of the pictures.
